- Workshop: Images génératives
From January 6th to the 10th, 2003, the excellent Servovalve and I held a joint workshop on generative imagery. I did most of the teaching (how to program, etc) and Servovalve improvised with sketches, examples, and showed his working method. Amazingly, most of his code is incredibly compact, often just two or three lines of well-placed code.
At the end of the workshop, Servovalve designed an installation with two videoprojectors projected onto two semi-transparent screens placed about 50 centimeters from each other. Double-screen programs from all the participants were then projected onto the two screens, thus allowing the images bleed into one another.
Servovalve also gave us an interesting presentation on his design collaborations with Olivier Koechlin for the GRM CD-Rom La musique électroacoustique, and walked us through an interface he designed for the Museum Jean Tinguely.
